Pizza Crisps-Great for Freezer Stashes!

My daughter has a blog for teens-with lots of recipes. She has always loved to bake/cook, from an early age! She was right there in the kitchen beside me wanting to get her hands into whatever she could :) So, she started a blog with recipes that teens might like. And, hopefully, teens can make as well.

We made these the other day. She didn't get to help as much as my two younger kids did-they had a blast topping the pizzas with sauce, pepperoni and cheese :)

I baked these according to directions. I then put them on baking sheets in the freezer to flash freeze. I packaged them up in baggies. And, I will tell you, we ran out of sauce :) Only because I was using what I had on hand at the moment. So, with the rest of the dough, I just made the rounds and flash froze those. Then, packaged them in baggies. The kids can them out of the freezer and top them as they like :) We baked the frozen ones at 350--but you might want to watch these to determine how long you would back them after they are frozen-we are still experimenting with these and it would depend on how thick you make you pizza crusts ;)

Walgreen's in Owasso has $1 clothes

I hit Walgreen's yesterday and they had quite a few shirts for both men and women marked down to $1!! They were in the isle where the Christmas items are marked down 75% off (I also got some wrapping paper for $1-the multi roll packages). There were some relaly cute shirts for the ladies, or even some juniors. I got my two older girls some adorable tops. Also, there were alot of mens muscle shirts. I was able to find many 2x and up, but found one xl for my hubby who likes them a little biggish ;) I also saw a few pairs of adorable jammie type pants that could easily be made into shorts for the summer! Anyway, check out your local Walgreen's or, if you live near Owasso, check them out soon before all these items are gone :)

A Couple of Things...

If you are near a QuikTrip, sign up for their survey center. It is usually only one survey around the beginning of the month, but you get a free item from QT! Sometimes it is free coffee, maybe a free girller item, whatever :) Could mean a nice lil award for yourself. QT Web Group

Also, if you use Fleischmann's yeast, be sure to go to their website and sign up for their newsletter. Each month, they send out a coupon :) That usually lasts me with yeast for the whole month :) Be sure to hit your browser button and print off the coupon again. Here is Fleischmann's site to sign up. Coupon Notebook-Revisited

I thought it might be a good time to repost my couponing strategy :) I cannot remember where I heard this idea, but I do know the Money Saving Queen uses this idea and even sells notebooks very similar. I just made mine up on my own ;) One thing I do differently now is to put calendars in my front pocket-the outside one. I can mark paydays on that and keep track of holidays coming up that I might need to stock up food items for. You can search online for free calendar printing sites. I like my calendars to show present month and the next month of one page. This seems to help me with my planning. This could even help you with menu planning as well-but since I tend to decide most of our dinners as we go along, all I do is plan out a 2 week menu while I make my list-I can't do it by calendar method ;)

Shopping Notebook Pictures


Here ya go...This is the front-basic lil binder from Walmart (or any other store :)

This is the inside-front...This particular notebook has two pockets in the front and back insides of the binder. I like this better than the ones with the single pocket. It allows more places to put things like my pen, my coupon cutting scissors, and any other things I might need. I also like to keep calendars for the current month and the next to keep up with planning meals, special days or even keeping track of paydays.


Here is my paper-pretty basic here-lol! This is where I write my list (on the right paper) and make my menu for the two weeks (on the left paper). I accidentally purchased a small notebook than my first one. My old notebook was a 2 inch binder. This new one is 1 1/2 in. Not a big deal, but I did discover that the 70 ct notebook I use to plan in was too big to fit in the new binder. I like to use the 70 ct notebook because it holds the paper and I don't lose pages. I often like to refer back to previous menus to keep track of what we have eaten recently and mix things up a bit. I am noticing, even already, that just using paper (notebook paper or, as I did, ripping the pages out of my 70 ct notebook) can leave you with weak pages as you go along with your planning down the road. So, if you plan to do this, I highly suggest at least a 2 inch binder...This allows you a good amount of room to hold your paper and your plastic trading card pages...

Below is a picture of the sort of trading cards pages I bought. Each page has nine pockets. I only use the front of each page-this, to me, makes it less hard to pull out a coupon that I do not intend to come out...does that make sense? If I put the coupons back to back in the pockets, I might accidentally pull out the other coupon when I am only intending to get the one on top...Also, if I have to fold a coupon in order to get it into the pockets, I can see the back and eaily view any epiration dates.




And, lastly, here is a picture of one of my coupon pages-sort of a close up to show how I just slide the coupons into the pocket...Coupon won't fit? Fold it a bit to make it fit. Some coupons, even when folded, are a bit long...that's ok, place them into a pocket within the 2nd or 3rd rows. Doing this means they will not hang out of your binder and get ruined. I was worried the coupons would not go in and out easily, but after my big coupon shopping trip to Walmart yesterday, I have to say I was very pleased with my new set up :)

Did You Get a Sunday Paper Yesterday? -Walgreen's Deal

I hope you got a Sunday paper!! Inside one of the SS was a q-pon for $2.25 off Finish Dishwasher Detergents. Right now, Walgreens has a deal when you buy the 20 ct of the Finish Powerballs for $3.49, you get a RR for $1.50. So, combining that with a q-pon makes your price -.26 cents-lol! Yes, that is a minus there :) I really do not like counting my RR s a savings with the item I am buying-I prefer counting those toward other items I might buy. So, in this case, with that Q-pon, your cost would be $1.24 and you would then recieve a RR of $1.50 for future use...like, perhaps some Christmas clearance ;)

A New Year and A New Me

Atleast that is my goal :) I think most of go into a new year with plans for something we want to change, or do. I began planning some goals I want to get done. Some areas in my house that need cleaning up or organized. I made a list for those, and my husband even added a couple to it that he planned to take care of :) (He just told me to put in parenthesis-So he says Yes, he does read my blog every now and then ;) I also plan to be better organized in certain areas. For instance, I have this great fridge out in our shop-I want to be certain the freezer part stays pretty filled up with breakfast and dinner foods. I have been sick for the past two days (Happy New Year to me-lol) and today was thinking about what I would fix for dinner. Usually I have something quick in the freezer, but not right now. With the holidays, I kept that freezer filled with things for the holiday meals. Or leftover ham/turkey from holiday meals. So, another plan is to make sure once a month, at the least, I stock up that freezer and I pick an area in my house that needs some major organizing, cleaning, etc...That is not to take the place of my regular cleaning, mind you ;)

Also, I am planning a giveaway for February! Please keep an eye out for it. Nothing huge, but since it is my birthday month, I wanted to thank all my readers out there too :)
